Logo University of Linz The Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) is a comprehensive university institute as well as a research and development center in the Open Innovation Center (OIC) of the JKU Linz, which focuses on companies and cooperation projects between science and industry. The aim is to connect researchers from different departments and faculties in the field of technology. The LIT Law Lab as a part of LIT consists of 13 researchers (six full professors and two assistant professors). It carries out interdisciplinary legal research with researchers from the fields of public law including data protection law, civil law, intellectual property law, tax law and anti-discrimination law (algorithmic discrimination). The scientific approach and claim of the LIT Law Lab are the comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of the legal framework of innovative technologies, the legally sound implementation of the same as well as the development of new legal instruments, e.g. for AI-supported systems.
